Supervisor Awareness and Responsibilities

This workshop is designed to update the supervisor’s awareness as to his/her responsibilities regarding the safe use of cranes. This program reviews the many related OSHA guidelines, industry standards and ANSI recommendations associated with crane operations.

This training program allows the supervisor to identify and correct deficiencies as well as effectively monitor the day-to-day operations under his/her area of responsibility. This program is ultimately designed to enhance the teamwork concept so critical to the safe and efficient use of cranes.

Signal Person Training

Signal Person Training

This program consists of 1-2 days (depending on group size) of hands-on training and instruction for up to twelve candidates. Topics covered include signal qualifications and general requirements, standard hand signals for mobile and tower cranes, voice commands, crane operations, basic crane terminology, and safety standards. Upon completion, candidates will receive a certificate of attendance and CIS will issue qualification cards to candidates with satisfactory written and practical exam test scores. This program can also be used as a preparatory course for national signal person certification through the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO).

Rigging

This Rigging Training course provides a comprehensive overview of basic rigging techniques, procedures, and uses. The course covers the inspection requirements for different types of slings, including wire rope, chain, and synthetic. In addition, the training delves into important topics such as weight calculations, hand signals, sling angle stresses, and lifting points. By the end of the course, students will have a thorough understanding of the fundamental principles of rigging.

Mobile Crane Inspection

Mobile Crane Inspection

Based on government and manufacturer recommendations, this mobile crane inspection program is designed to provide the mobile crane operator or participant with the knowledge necessary to establish an effective in-house inspection program. It includes instructions on rope lays, inspecting proper boom installation, identifying damaged chords and lacings on the boom, operational parameters, lubricating points, rope reeving, OSHA requirements, and more.

Mobile Crane Operator

This program is designed to provide classroom instruction and practical application in the basic information necessary for the safe operation of cranes for collateral duty operators, as well as to upgrade the existing skills of operating personnel. It covers operator responsibilities, safe and efficient operating techniques, load chart interpretation, proper crane setup, operator inspection, and accident prevention.
